This is quite a pretty bunch of “enchanted†designs (mostly fairies) in a magical forest type setting. There are 25 different designs, however, what is great is that this artist provides 2 of each design, so you have a total of 50 designs to color (or to share depending on your mood.)The designs are quite elegant and have a great deal of detail in them. There are several “nudes†where hair and whatnot cover up the strategic areas so that the individuals are not technically nude. There are flowing lines in every design and it is a great book for those who are into fairies.The designs are printed on one side of the page with the back left blank. The paper is white and is not perforated. Many of the design go right into the binding, so removing the page might be a tad difficult without losing some portion of it. The paper is fairly thin and all markers and gel pens leak through. As the back of each page is blank, you can put a piece of cardstock or really heavweight paper under the page you are working on to keep ink from ruining the rest of the book. The binding is glued rather than sewn in.
Love this book so much. All the images are gorgeous, 1 sided and on great quality paper. I put layer after layer and the paper kept taking the color. You get two of each image in case you mess up or want to try a new color combo. This book is a no brainer if you're a lover of fairies and other magical things. Also great for the collector. Unique art work.
Every design is gorgeous you really almost hate to color it! The cover is great to very smooth silky material. I love it so much I just ordered the mermaid one.
Apparently, I only read the top eight reviews which praised this book like crazy. Today when it arrived, I went back online to do more reading. The ninth review said "It would be good except for the CHEAP PAPER." I use pencils and markers but that won't work for these. The top worst review didn't mention the paper but the second did--and there were only two reviews under the "Bad" column. I ordered two of her books, this one and Mermaids, and am disappointed with the paper in both.
Absolutely love this coloring book and will be ordering her other 2 books as well. I love the fact that there are 2 copies of each image so that you can go a different direction artistically. The reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 is because the pages are not perforated making it extremely difficult to remove the pages for easier coloring (I like to use a clipboard) and display purposes.
This is my top favorite coloring book to date. The pictures are so exquisite! I color daily as a form of meditation and I prefer more real life type of pictures to color. This book has 25 different enchanted fantasy images to color and each of those pictures is repeated again in the book, so you have 2 of each image to color! Printed on one side of the paper, which I prefer! I used Fantasia Colored Pencils (my favorite of all) and also the Fantasia Watercolor Pencils with damp brushes in this book. There is one blank page in the back, you can create your own drawing there! Many coloring books, for me, have several pages in them that I don't care for, but this one is perfect! Every single page is as beautiful as the one before it.
I collect a lot of coloring books for adults and this is one of the best of beautifully drawn ladies, in intricate costumes set in lovely forest/outdoor places. Fairy/Medieval/Magic theme that subtly captures the power of feminine. Careful line art, nothing sloppy, printed on ONE SIDE OF PAGE ONLY. Paper ok, but you'll need a thick sheet of paper under it if you're going to use markers so they don't bleed to next page. You get two of each drawing to color. Sparkly/glitter markers add a lot to their dresses and makeup. Selina Fenech's wonderful art is one to collect and color seriously.
I really love the artwork in this book but I was so disappointed with the very bad quality paper used. It's recycled to the point of being grainy and it just smears everywhere. I spend more time erasing than I do coloring. Very frustrating that it's so hard to find high quality products these days. Everyone wants to be cheap. Sadly, they don't think about trying to retain customers with great products as opposed to just providing a service for a one-time purchase.
