If I could give this a half star I would. None of it is true, therefore it’s not funny seeing as she’s writing it as if it happened to her. I got about 15 pages in before I’d had enough. It’s SO over the top and stupid that you stop relating and/or caring. I’m sure she’s a funny gal in person but she should stick to twitter.
She's like your crazy girlfriend who is so much fun, until she's not. Until she is just crazy and you stop answering your phone when she calls. I'd love to see her at a party because she is outrageous and funny, but she reeks of danger and sometimes while reading the book, I wanted to put it down and walk away from it lest some of her crazy rubbed off on me.
Really disappointed in this. I read the author's second book first, which was OK but not great. But if I had read this one first I would not have bothered to continue.
Must read. If you love female comics, this is the book for you. It had been awhile since I found a book that I just couldn't put down. Way better than any of Handler or Schumer's books, it's much for like Kaling's book. After this you will be a fan of Jenny, and her refreshing honesty. The best stories are of her German boyfriend, and her allusions (I won't say delusions!) of grandeur about finding a foreign love--I've done this myself and could relate, and also could relate to 98% of everything else she's said or done.
If you were already obsessed with Jenny Mollen like me, you'll be even more obsessed after reading this book. She's hilarious, brutally honest and an amazing writer. Can't wait to read her other book!
I really wanted to like this book, but guess what? I've read it. It's all her blogs from Playboy's Smoking Jacket. Jenny seems like she'd be so much fun to know, but after the eighth story of her narcissism and "quirkiness", mixed in with what a stalker she appears to be, I got over it real quick. Just google her name along with the Smoking a Jacket and you've saved yourself ten bucks.
Hilarious stories, my only complaint is I wish it was longer bc by the end Jenny seems like an old friend I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to
I would not read this book on an airplane, because laughing so hard would probably get me pegged as a troublemaker and arrested when the plane landed and searched for drugs. Yes, it is that funny.
